I REMEMBER NICOLE: Domestic Violence Anthem Song/Music Video A Project of Other Projects

A THEME-SONG FOR A MOVEMENT!

Since the tragic and unresolved murder of Nicole Brown Simpson in 1994, her name has become a metaphor for domestic violence.

Filmmakers Renee Sotile & Mary Jo Godges are raising funds for the song recording and production of a music video, I REMEMBER NICOLE, to serve as an anthem - a theme-song for a movement to stop domestic violence.

Singing I REMEMBER NICOLE will be the beautiful voices of HOLLIE CAVANAGH from American Idol, Top 4, Season 11 -

and MELODYE PERRY! MELODYE shared the stage with big names including Michael Jackson, The Eurythimics, and U2. Her Mom EDNA WRIGHT and Aunt DARLENE LOVE are featured in the film 20 FEET FROM STARDOM.

Renee & Mary Jo met with Nicole's sister DENISE BROWN who shared stories of Nicole, her desire for her sister to be remembered, and for her senseless murder to encourage battered women to seek help. I REMEMBER NICOLE came out of that meeting.

CHORUS:

I will free myself, Believe in Myself
I will keep myself Safe and Whole
I will love myself, Reach out for Help
This is what I know, I Remember Nicole

Now is the time to produce and distribute the song via social media and to partner with advocacy groups.

  • Every 9 seconds in the US a woman is assaulted or beaten.
  • Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women.

I REMEMBER NICOLE has non-profit status through From the Heart Productions. We can offer a receipt for tax purposes, an advanced digital copy of the song and music video, and your name forever associated with this amazing project.

Please donate now. WITH YOUR HELP WE CAN SAVE LIVES. More than a song, I REMEMBER NICOLE is a theme-song for a movement. It will inspire for years and years to come.

A little about Renee & Mary Jo:

We are independent documentary filmmakers. The film closest to our hearts is on NASA's first Teacher in Space, Christa McAuliffe who died aboard Space Shuttle Challenger in 1986. We were honored to have Susan Sarandon narrate and Carly Simon write a song for our award-winning documentary, Christa McAuliffe: Reach for the Stars.

Their only request was that the film reach students across the country. Mission Accomplished!

10 years after premiering on CNN, Christa McAuliffe: Reach for the Stars is still relevant. The film screens at science centers, libraries, used as a teaching tool in classrooms, written about in books, and forever a part of history–we will do the same with I REMEMBER NICOLE.

Thank you. Onward & Upward!
