"Syd Field: What's the Story?" a feature documentary film A Project of Documentaries

Syd Field changed the face of entertainment forever with his best-selling screenwriting books. But who was the man behind "The Foundations of Screenwriting?"

We are in the development and fundraising stage for the documentary Syd Field: What's the Story?, which will reveal the life and journey of the man who transformed the landscape of screenwriting.

In 1979, Syd Field ( launched his first book Screenplay: The Foundations of Screenwriting. For anyone dreaming of writing a script — and many Hollywood development professionals — it became a bible. Syd went on to write seven more books, and was sought after by writers around the world to share his screenwriting method and passion. His work helped writers transform ideas into major studio films, independent features, and television series, and inspired so many others to fulfill their creative musings. But who was Syd Field? What were his Hollywood beginnings? And how did he come to be known as the "guru of screenwriting?"

Please donate to help us make the film a reality, and to share his story with the world.
